Refund & Returns Policy – Krator Engines

At Krator Engines, we strive to ensure every customer is satisfied with their purchase of a used engine or gearbox. Because automotive components are specialized mechanical parts, our Refund and Returns Policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and aligned with South African consumer protection standards.

Returns

Eligibility for Returns

To qualify for a return:

• A return request must be submitted within 7 days of delivery.

• The engine or gearbox must not be installed, dismantled, modified, or tampered with.

• The unit must be returned in the same condition in which it was supplied.

• All original seals, labels, markings, and identification tags must remain intact.

As we supply used engines and gearboxes, returns will not be accepted if:

• The unit has already been fitted or partially installed.

• Components have been removed, replaced, or altered.

• Damage resulted from improper installation or handling.

• The incorrect unit was ordered despite the correct details being provided by Krator Engines.

Customers are strongly advised to verify compatibility before completing a purchase.

How to Request a Return

To request a return:

• Include your invoice number, engine or gearbox details, and the reason for the return.

• Attach clear photos if the item received is damaged or incorrect.

Returns sent without prior authorization will not be accepted. Once approved, return instructions will be provided.

Return Shipping

• Customers are responsible for return shipping or freight costs unless the incorrect or defective item was supplied by Krator Engines.

• Engines and gearboxes must be returned using approved freight services.

• We recommend insured and trackable transport methods.

• Krator Engines is not liable for returned items lost or damaged during transit.

Refund Details

• Return Request Period: Within 7 days of delivery

• Inspection Period: 3–5 business days after receipt

• Refund Processing Time: Up to 10 business days after approval

• Currency: ZAR (South African Rand)

Once the returned unit has been received and inspected:

• You will be notified by email whether your refund has been approved or declined.

• Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method.

• Banking institutions or payment providers may require additional processing time before funds appear.

Restocking Fee

Approved returns may incur a reasonable handling or restocking fee, especially for special-order or sourced units.

Original shipping and freight costs are non-refundable unless the return resulted from an error by Krator Engines.

Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be issued for:

• Units that have been installed or tampered with

• Damage caused by incorrect installation practices

• Electrical components supplied with engines

• Labour or installation expenses

• Shipping and freight charges (unless due to incorrect supply)

• Special-order or custom-sourced units

Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may apply if:

• The unit is returned in a condition different from when supplied

• Parts or accessories are missing

• Damage occurred after delivery

• Seals, labels, or identification markings have been removed

Exchanges

We only replace engines or gearboxes if:

• An incorrect unit was supplied by Krator Engines

• The unit is confirmed defective prior to installation

Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received your refund:

Important Notice

Used engines and gearboxes are mechanical components and must be installed by qualified professionals. Krator Engines accepts no responsibility for damage caused by incorrect installation, overheating, insufficient lubrication, or failure to replace recommended service parts during installation.

Customers are encouraged to verify engine codes, gearbox codes, and compatibility before purchasing to prevent disputes or incorrect orders.
